Folks over Pocketnow found a handful of hidden gestures in Google Maps, which have just been back to App Store. Take a look at the video walkthrough.
As a recap of the gestures, you can: double tap to initiate a single-finger zoom, use two fingers to rotate and tilt, use two fingers to open the side panel with a right to left gesture, you can swipe through a list of POIs in a search, and you can swipe through navigation steps to see what turns are coming up.
If you have an iPad, you might be stuck waiting for a bit for a proper Google Maps app, but fear not: it’s more likely than not that Google is working on a maps app for the larger screen, and just wanted to focus on the iPhone app first because there are many more iPhone owners than there are iPad owners. Grab Google Maps on iTunes now.
