A few days ago, on November 1st, Apple seeded iOS 6.1 Beta 1 to iOS developers. Though this minor release was mostly bug fixes, some changes have been noted by developers, who were able to test drive and build their applications to be compatible with this upcoming release. Folks over JBN have posted a video report concluding all the news in iOS 6.1. Take a look:
Apple’ s faulty and poorly mapped Maps application has added an option (or should I say more visible option) to report bugs directly from the application by pulling the corner tab up which previously revealed terrain and traffic options. Tapping on ‘Report a Problem’ leads users to a window to report issues with search results, map labels, missing locations and other unknown issues with Maps.
Lockscreen Music Controls
Apple has changed its old ‘aqua UI’ to its new slider and spread out buttons, matching to it’s music app interface. The controls are more spread out on the display.
Siri - purchase movie tickets
Some reported that Siri gave them the new option to purchase movie tickets via Fandango by using the virtual assistant, Siri available on the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod Touch 5, iPad Mini, iPad 3rd generation and iPad 4th generation. Adding to the additional functionality of finding what’s showing in cinemas and locating cinemas, it seems like Apple is integrating this new option to purchase tickets as well.
That’s about all the major changes spotted by developers and users on iOS 6.1, of course developers can enjoy all the new, juicy API updates, more information of the minor changes can be found on Apple’s development website by clicking here.
Of course, we strongly suggest you do not update to versions above iOS 6 if you are looking for an untethered jailbreak at the moment. If you find anything new or interesting in iOS 6.1, leave a comment down below, we’ll be interested on seeing what you find!
