You probably know by now that a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 is in the works along with the jailbreak for iOS 7.
While the evad3rs team is working on the iOS 7 jailbreak, iH8sn0w, developer of Sn0wbreeze and winocm are working on the jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4.
When we last reported about the iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak, iH8sn0w was looking for volunteers to get the kernel dump to make the untethered binary for the iPads. The untethered binary is ready for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s and iPhone 5.
The good news is that he has got the iOS 6.1.3 kernel dumps for all the iOS devices now. He has provided the following update on the progress:
6.1.3 kernel is finally dumped. What follows next is finalization of the untether bootstrap. There is no knowing how long this will take but we’ll post an update when its done. Then the tool creation will follow after that. Again, ETA is still before 2014.
It also looks like there is quite a bit of work to be done so don’t expect the iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 untethered jailbreak to be released anytime soon. As we had mentioned earlier, they’ve given such a vague ETA to get people of their backs. So please be patient, and don’t bother iH8sn0w and winocm by asking for an ETA. When they’re close to releasing a jailbreak, they’ll let us know.
Check out this post for the latest status update on iOS 7 jailbreak. Please note that if you’ve an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod touch 4g then it is possible to tethered jailbreak your device on iOS 6.1.3. Check this post for more details.
