In the beginning of June the Chronic-Dev released the Absinthe 2.0 Jailbreak at the HITB conference. Chronic-Dev were not the only members of the Jailbreaking community however, that presented at HITB this year. In fact, MuscleNerd was present to give a presentation on “Evolution of iPhone Baseband and Unlocks,” and recently he tweeted that the presentation has now been uploaded to YouTube.

In MuscleNerd’s presentation he goes into detail on what is involved when trying to unlock an iPhone baseband, some of the techniques he uses, and ways Apple has tried to combat iPhone unlocking. For those who understand the technical jargon of MuscleNerd’s presentation you may also want to look over the slides of his presentation in more detail.

Interestingly enough, MuscleNerd mentions that at the time of this presentation the 06.15.00 baseband downgrading solution was still far off. It is now due for release sometime today however, because MuscleNerd was able to move ahead faster than first anticipated.
