Step 1: Obtaining iBooks for the iPhone 4

Step 2: Browsing and Adding Books
Once the iBooks app is installed on your iPhone, you can access it by simply tapping on the iBooks icon. Upon doing so, you are taken to your bookshelf. This provides you with a graphical display of all of the ebooks and PDF files currently on your device. Tapping on a title will open that particular book. Within each ebook, you can navigate through its content by tapping either the right or left side of the screen. You can also drag the page corner as you would for a real book to turn the page.
On the upper portion of your screen you will find a navigation bar. tapping the list icon will take you to the table of contents of the ebook which you are currently browsing. From there, you may jump to individual chapters by tapping on them. On the navigation bar you will also find an icon to adjust the size of the font. On the right-hand side of the navigation bar you will find a bookmark icon. By tapping on the bookmark icon you will be able to place a bookmark on that particular section of the ebook. You may place multiple bookmarks throughout an individual ebook. To find all of your bookmarks, simply navigate to the table of contents as described earlier. all of your bookmarks will be reflected from the table of contents.
To add more titles to your library, you can tap on the "store" button. This will cause the bookshelf on your screen to flip around and direct you to the iBookstore. From the iBookstore screen you may browse through thousands of book titles. You can also search by author, title and genre.
Step 3: Synchronizing with Other Devices
The iBooks app allows users to synchronize their ebooks and PDF files utilizing the ePub electronic book format though iTunes. By using iTunes in this fashion, you will be able to synchronize all of your content, inclusive of bookmarks, on any iPhone, ITouch or iPad.
